Business Stereo - Connecting Ipod??

There are multiple threards commenting on how to connect to your satnav or your CD Multichanger etc...

Issue here is that I have no satnav and no multichanger...all I'm working with is the standard Business, 6 Speaker system in a Z4C on a 56 plate.

Therefore the question that I'm asking is what exactly will I require to link my Ipod to my stereo as a start in upgrading the audio?

I've keep hearing about the Alpine units...Intravee units etc.

Any advice on what units/cables that I will require will be appreciated....also any instruction on how to install the lot would go down a treat!!

We put a Dice in, plugs into the CD multi changer cables which should be on the wiring loom, we just removed the rear carpet in the boot to expose the console tunnel and the cable were there, fed the ipod lead up through into the storage between the seats. The dice works great with the business system displaying artist tracks playlist etc and allows full use of the MFSW controls. You need to play with the setting on the dice to get what you want it to do and then just packed it into the tunnel and put the carpet back, then its just one cable to the ipod, the unit charges it when in use. Google dice z4 installation on you tube. Very quick and easy to fit.

I have the plug exiting from the panel under the heater/AC controls,and use a retractable 3.5 jack lead which keeps it nice and tidy

The DICe unit looks like a simple install then....am I right in thinking that its just two connections...a 3 and 6 pin connector from the DICe into the CD Multichanger cables that are sat waiting at the rear of the centre console? Then obviously your connection from your Ipod to your DICE unit?

I checked under my heater/AC controls and there is no AUX Input....my car was registered 11/06 on a 56 plate but no joy.

Now to locate a DICE and get the job done!!

i fitted the BMW ipod kit, bought of SK93, does the business but does not show any track info, maybe the dice is better

I've got similar set up - no sat nav and no disc changer. Aux in cable (Mini) for less than $40 does the trick just fine. A search will turn up about 17 pages of discussion and detailed installation. Then use the Griffin iTrip (no FM). Good luck with the center vents!
