Apologies if this is addressed elsewhere - I've looked but couldn't find what I'm after...
I really want to keep the OEM head unit and spend as little as possible on ICE in what is only a weekend car, so not too bothered about DAB or Bluetooth, but would like to take my music library with me on trips - so is it possible, by either buying a proprietry lead and connector (preferably) or by manufacturing my own (somehow), to add a USB socket to the BMW Business CD head unit?
This would only be for playing music from a memory stick, not charging.
If possible, would it just be a case of replacing the Aux socket? Using the CD changer connection? What would be involved in putting together a home-made cable/connector? Or is it a non-starter?
Cheers
