Hi guys and gals

I have just put down a deposit and collecting my Z4 COUPE ( 3.0 si sport auto 2006 ) :D ON MONDAY

I CANT WAIT !!

BUT

CAN ALL YOU GUYS TELL ME THE BAD BITS !! ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE I PART WITH MY HARD EARNED CASH !!

HPI CLEAR SO FAR BUT OBVIOUSLY I NEED TO CHECK VIN NO'S ETC SO ALL ADVICE VERY WELCOME !!

I WILL POP SOME PICTURES ON ONCE IVE SIGNED ON THE LINE! WHOOP WHOOP !!

Check the service history is complete, including brake fluid changes every 2 years and if there is no service in 2 years (which is quite likely) there should be an oil change. Oh, and the rear springs break - big thread on here about that.

.... and no need to shout! :D
 
hello and welcome. the coupe is great you will have no problems

just check for tapping engine, rear springs and rust on inside of tailgate

Also check that it has a can opener in the boot. :poke: :)
 
Check tyres for type and wear, if its on runflats and you intend to stay with them a new set can get close to a £1000 to replace (replacing normal tyres is bad enough!) See threads on here about pro's and con's of keeping with them or not.
Enjoy the car, shame about the roof though (hehe) :)
 
Most excellent choice :D :thumbsup: Fog lamps are prone to misting, you are going to love driving it :) :thumbsup: :driving:
 
Check for a loud tapping sound coming from the top end of the engine (over the cam and injector noise) when starting from cold.

I found a great car, ticked all my boxes and had really low mileage. Sounded like a coin was rattling around in the top end. :(

This is probably the biggest issue a coupe owner could face.

If the sound continues for more than a couple of seconds walk away. BMW says it causes no damage, but metal on metal something has to give.

thanks for the advice and yes I will walk away if i hear a noise !! metal on metal is definatley no good !!!
