Burning rubber smell?

Anyone else ever detect a faint burning rubber smell? Did some searches and the engine partition on a different BMW was the cause.
There are no leaks, smell is faint and I cant figure out where it is coming from. It lingers for a while after every drive. If it is the engine partitions I will let you all know.

You dont have anything rubbing against the tyres?

I was able to check the front tires by steering the car to full lock and they are fine. The rears are warmer on the inside but not that hot, but I will try to get a better look at them. Double checked for visible leaks and drips, but nothing there. Brake discs were all quite hot to the touch but it isn't a brake smell. I will make sure the electric brake is releasing completely. The smell is evident as soon as you enter the garage.

Check with a mirror in the inside of the tyres.

And check if you dont have a leaky valve cover gasket (oil dripping on the eshaust manifold; drivers side)

Did your left foot get warm? It's easy, if you have size 13 feet like me, to cook your left foot. I've done it a few times and the soul of my training shoes is not a pleasant smell.

My car has this too. Found the cause to be a very slight oil leak between the cam cover and head - oil works its way down onto the hot exhaust manifold (the burning rubber smell is the oil burning on the surface of the manifold). A drop of oil will cause quite a stink!!!
Apparently it's a common issue on 6 cylinder BMW engines and could be just the cam cover gasket (cheap)? or a cracked plastic cam cover (more expensive).
