I also have a baby monitor type of setup and keep my old lignum vitae truncheon handy.

The cameras and alarms are fine for normal burglars. I have caught all of mine on those and they were all arrested / prosecuted.

For the pie keys, I am going to add farm type alarms systems to put a permitter around the house so that an initial alarm will go off before they even get into any building. Put a siren in each outbuilding at the maximum available level as well to deafen them.

Not sure what else you (legally) can do.
