Probably the only gripe I ever had about my M coupe was the bunny hopping issue, and I've recently managed to completely eliminate it so thought I'd throw it out here for sharing.
My stock engine mounts were shot, to the point where my engine was almost in contact with the front ARB, so I replaced them with the Bimmerworld Group N mounts. At the same time replaced the transmissions mounts with a set from Rogue Engineering, even though they looked to be in ok condition. During the process, I noticed a crack on my guibo so had that replaced too.
Voila... no more bunny hops. Not even if I intentionally dumped my clutch. I don't have to "shift carefully" anymore. I doubt the cracked guibo would have contributed much to the bunny hopping since it has been a thing ever since the car was introduced on the market. So it's down to the upgraded engine and transmission mounts. I suppose the specific brand isn't that important, as long as the mounts are stiffer than stock.
Also worth mentioning that I noticed some improvement when I removed the CDV as well.
