Bumper

I am considering getting my front bumper either resprayed, or replaced entirely due to excessive peppering. I think the previous owner either followed gritting trucks for fun or the midgies in their part of the UK are frikin huge...

I have been told a full repair and respray (using an "oven???") will cost around £200 from a local garage. I would appreciate anyones thoughts on this or the cost Vs. buying a pre-facelift bumper new - and then geting it sprayed.

Thats a good price paid over £300 for front bumper and wing mirrors on my Calibra a few years back but it was a very good bodyshop and the work was spot on.

Around £200 for a bumper respray sounds about right. But up to you, but I actually prefer the pre facelift front to the facelift. Well sometimes

i would be interested to here how it go's i need to get mine done !! my girlfriend dragged one side down a high curb bless her :x

Price sounds about right and should get you a reasonable job if al they have to do is flat it off and spray it up.

Def not worth getting a new bumper as that would be up to £600 from memory, unless as Chris suggests your changing to a different style, then you need new foglights.

I've never heard of anyone going back to the older style from facelift?

Its currently a pre-facelift bumper, so a respray it is - £600 notes is a little to much by comparrison.... Work should be good - a number of colleagues have used this place for decades and have only great things to say.

Thanks for the comments

Sorry - my mis read that you had a post facelift. I assumed that from it being a 2006 model in your signature.

LOL - I guessed. My car seemed to sneak in at the end of the production line - month of manufacture was January '06.

I thought the 2.0 was only available on the facelift models though? Sorry, not trying to call you a liar or anything just a little confused. :)

I think the 2.0 was the last model type to be introduced before the facelift. Every day is a learning day :P
