Bumper wing clips

I noticed my bumper was slanted to one side so decided to investigate. A bit of faffing around revealed that the wing bumper clip is hanging on by a thread, I can almost turn it 180 degrees.

Before shelling out £30 for a new one, just wanted to double check this isn't normal.

Also side question, are the position of the headlights adjustable? The left seems to be very marginally higher than the right. Thanks in advance !

Can't comment on the headlights, but the answer is yes on the bumper bracket...I've had to buy two over my ownership. They have you over a barrel with them.

Yes, the headlight aim is adjustable. Open the bonnet and behind each headlight you'll see 2 white plastic allen screws. One adjusts side to side, the other up and down. It's very easy to just tweak the a little. I adjusted mine one evening with the lights shining on the garage doors.

Here's a link that has a useful pic to identify the adjusters:

The clips/brackets that secure the bumper are often mentioned here they become brittle and might break if you remove the bumper....don't bother with non oem stuff on ebay though. I used sopers of lincoln very recently and they were £18 a piece excluding vat, discount for forum members and great service

Thanks guys.
Is that t!o adjust the position of the bulb or the entire headlamp unit?
That's to adjust the 'bulb'/headlamp aim. You can adjust the position of the whole lamp unit (4 x long machine screws) but you need to remove the front bumper to gain access. Maybe a job to do when fitting the new bumper clips ? 20210413_220344.jpg

Oops, I misunderstood! Adjusting the headlight position in relation to the surrounding bodywork is possible - a bit. Look closely at the mounting brackets and surrounding plastic to see if anything has been damaged. It took me ages to get mine close to correct. My car had minor accident damage when I bought it.

Thanks all, massively helpful as usual!

Intending on removing the bumper and headlights this weekend so will see what's going beneath the surface. Hopefully my car won't look like it's has a stroke afterwards!
