Bumper to fender bracket

My passenger side bracket that secures the bumper to the fender (to the side of the headlight) is broken, causing a ¼” gap. I have seen info that calls for removal of the entire bumper assembly to replace the part. However it appears to me that I may be able to access it by removing the inner fender liner.
Procedure is here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/BMW_Z4M/130-BODY-Wheel_Well_Liner_Replacement/130-BODY-Wheel_Well_Liner_Replacement.htm
Anyone here tried this or have any input as to if it might work??
Thanks

I changed mine by taking off the bumper 5 or so screws under the hood and about the same under the bumper. Ease the bumper forward on to something to protect it . Then remove the clip which is a pig.

You can replace without removing the entire bumper. You will need to remove from the side you are doing though. Unless you take the wing off though it will be very hard to remove the bracket in one piece. You'd be better off breaking it or cutting it up using a dreamer like I did.

It's a fairly easy part to take off but to do it correctly your better to remove the arch liner so you can compress the small tabs that hold it in the wing, the bumper just slots in to some little grooves so it eases out easy enough
