Bumper Respray Problems

I don't really want him having another go at it.

this is just a short term fix until I get time to find someone to do a proper job.

Fair do's

In that case :withstupid:

Right then after a good going over it looks like this. Much better than before and I think I'll be able to live with this for a month or two.

I need to do the lower grill over the weekend but I've had it for now. I think I'm just going to buy a new lower grill.

So what do you think?

I'm happy with it for the short term as you have to really look for the problem. Not like before where it was very obvious.

The "Grid" is £92.62! and the Number Plate holder is £22.44

I'm so glad I removed the kidney grills otherwise it could've cost me a fortune :(

So next step is to remove the bumper and see what I can do with the grill.

If it's as easy as it looks here http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1071&hilit=bumper+remove I will be trying this tomorrow!

I have to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped.

I had to recently replace my number plate holder - it was held on by self tappers, not rivets. I'm surprised at the rivets being used! I'm looking at a full bumper respray shortly and will be filling & flattening the number plate area with the surround removed now after seeing yours - that really was a shocking job.

Not sure how I'll fix the surround back on afterwards - the bumper is too curved for putting the numberplate straight on, but I don't want the surround screwed on. I don't think pads are the answer though (due to limited contact area on the surround) ... how are you planning to fit it back on Z4 Coupe, ?

If you look at that website that gives you all the part numbers the official part to put the number plate surround on is a rivet. I'm going to try and rivet mine back on as the holes are a little large for screws.

Self tappers would've been one hell of a lot easier today though!

Ah - so self tappers may be one of the Alpina mods then (sorry Nosa)

I'm looking to get my bumper resprayed in the summer. I will be using the mounts that screw into the underside of the lip. No screw holes visible from the front then.

Got a link or picture? Can't see how it can fit without some seriously long legs or blocking the lower vent... :?

Take a look around that website, they do UK size too

I like this a lot - the only thing that puts me off is that you either need 4 screws through your plate, or there will be a gap between your plate holder and bumper. May be worth a play though... :?

I've just put my number plate surround and number plate back on with self tappers. I thought as it will be coming off again pretty soon it would be much easier.

Just got to start on the lower grill next :(

Anyone know how the headlight washers are connected. Or can point me in the direction of a guide to remove a coupe bumper with fog lights and headlight washers?
