Bumper fangs makeover

Id like to see some pics of other members front fangs to compare but mine were looking shabby to say the least
The passenger side being the worse  rest of the bumper, bonnet & wing tops have only minor odd chips so far from warranting a front end makeover

Its a relatively easy job to do , took me about 5 hours all together with 2 coats of build primer, 4 coats paint & 2 lacquer all rubbed down lightly with a scotch pad
More than happy with the results & a major improvement on what they were

Plates change complete as well so looking refreshed for minimum ££

Huge improvement mate

I'm getting my bumper re sprayed as a couple of larger 'catches' that stand out next to the kidneys, god knows how :headbang: previous owner parking badly. One of my fangs is less churned than yours was, so gives me great confidence in the outcome. Really great result, you need to look for it to see it

Good effort Mr W but you need to protect them with something or they'll be damaged by the next unexpected speed hump or kerb. I have RPI skid plates on mine but I'm sure you could knock up something fairly easily from a sheet of aluminium.

Yea they do kind of invite damage & whilst i know my paint guy would have done a perfect job it would make it doubly bad if i scuffed them again , at least now i know worse case scenario i can make them presentable again
I will keep my eyes open for something suitable but unobtrusive like the skid plates you mentioned

I have fang plates made by a member on here that have been great at protecting them and they're in good condition. There's a little nick on one of one of them though, because the previous owner never fitted the plates

My fangs are the same when it comes to stone chips though, it's just one of those things that happens. They're more visible on the M front because of the outward angle.

Great job

Looks impressive that, wonder how hard it would be to do on ruby black.

I would think the same ? A place near me mixes exact shade from the paint code & gives it in aerosol form , decent sized can for £12.50 , if you wanted a can in Ruby black i don't mind getting you one & mailing it

Can you do a close up image? Just difficult to see the level of orange peel.

Not in my ownership - never caught them :poke:

ah yes, did not mean it negative :P

Just difficult to judge from afar.

Top effort Mr wilks  one of the joys of owning a zed and one with an M bumper....those fangs get beats :poke:

It is indeed young Casper , great book , great film
And it contained that wonderful line of dialogue intended to make coupe owners less despondent about their choice of vehicle....

'Third class riding's better than first class walking any day'
