Bumper damage

Grr only had my Z4M a few weeks and managed to catch one of the bumper lips on a kerb. Any idea how much it would cost for a few bumper and also what else I've managed to damage underneath the car? :headbang:

I've caught mine on the kerb but so far only scraped underneath the spoiler. Cost me £700 when I cracked the spoiler on my previous Z4 sport. :(

ouch - £700 for that :(

I had my front bumper resprayed and the front wing repaired and resprayed earlier this year - bodyshop wanted £500, slightly more for insurance...

Smartrepair at my dealer is great, had a few marks done for £100 or so each on the front bumper in the 3 years and looks imaculate.

Ouch.

Does that undertray really need replacing or could that hole just be neatly filled in on a diy basis? Bit of black silicon sealant and a wet smooth over?

David, I've also got the mini skid plates on the front "fangs" of my spoiler as my drive is at a bit of a funny angle.

I was thinking a couple of months ago about getting some made up here locally and punting them on for a sensible price this side of the pond, but there was limited interest, so I just put them on my car and let my little idea gently slip away.

Would be interested to see, have you got a pic ?

I guess it would be most important that if you hit the "skid plates", it wouldn't move them damaging the bumper it was attached to..

Thanks for all your replies - not sure I can afford to have this repaired at the moment but I'm very interested in the skid plates :)

I laugh my socks off at posts like this  . I would repair it myself in 4 hours using "Car Plan" cellulose body putty, sanding it down with 1200 grit wet emery paper then spraying primer, top coat & laquer for less than £20.00 :headbang:

I have to say £700 is taking the proverbial and might be worth it if you plan on the concours look but in reality they are bumpers etc for a reason they are there to take a few scrapes and to be honest that low down on the front I'd opt for a DIY job. The undertrays can take a scratch or two.... my 528 has one half hanging off after my other half plowed through a big puddle a few months ago.... not comment at MOT.

BTW Mr Bull is an expert...:-)

me I'm too busty and realisitc about dings.... make sure you don't over pack the boot on MRs.... very thin sheet it will crease believe me ....there is a job I need to get looked at some day cest la vie.....

Sounds seriously pricey to me too. I'd try a less well known bodyshop and havea go at cash in hand. Of course i haven't seen your door bumo so maybe that's absorbing some of the price.
