Bumper bumped

Nightmare, hope you get it sorted soon.

The thing I dread hearing most (after "I'm not insured etc) is : "I know a cheap garage, I'll get it sorted on the cheap mate."

Since you've engaged the insurance company, it might be worth your while contacting Europa car consultants to save you some pain. I've used them before (from recommendations on Pistonheads) and they basically do all the donkey work with the insurance company.

Where do they get their money from?

Europa? They get it from the liable insurance company. Basically they do all the work that the insurance company should do but doesn't.

They (or at least companies I know of) only take on 'no fault' cases, where the game is to provide you with an expensive hire car for as long as it takes to fix yours. In return they handle the basic paperwork that the insurer should be doing. They certinly have a place and time, but I duobt it on this somewaht unclear case.

Dev-a-stated!

Sitting outside of my driveway waiting to pull out when a kid in his 'rude' Punto pedal to the metal smacks into my front corner. Luckily i wasn't far enough out for him to touch the side panel its just the front bumper. But who knows what damage is behind the bumper.

Now there are witnesses, my neighbours. I took photos of the scene but I fear the liability could unfairly lie with me. Is there any counter argument against this being my fault? I could i suppose be classed as a parked vehicle as i was stationary at the time when he hit me. Just in his way a little bit.

He assumed he was in the wrong immediately and didn't want the insurance companies involved. Stating he worked for Fiat, and suggested he 'can get this all fixed on the cheap innit' but im not keen on that at all.

Thoughts guys?......

this has happend to me before, you are in the wrong :(

Buff out  Sorry Aebos its just that the front bumper is hanging of in two pieces!

I have it being picked up soon to go to an approved bodyshop. Never keen on those places as they are a bit to 'factory line' with their work sometimes. Its the only way i can get a courtesy car though.

So what do you guys think another Aero bumper on go for an M style?? I really hope they don't insist i have a standard bumper as a replacement. Are there any cost differences between them all?

On the picture it looks like you already got an Aero bumper though?

I'd not go for an M one, I think they make the cars look like they are riding high at the front. Weird, but true (imho) :)

Get a facelift one maybe?

Mmmmmm...
