Bulb help!

Hi all,

So I’ve had the light on the dash to indicate a bulb had gone somewhere.

I identified this to be the front offside indicator bulbs when full headlights were on. Strangely when indicating there are no issues.

After having a look all I could think was to replace the indicator bulbs, however same issue persists.

My question is: am I missing something obvious??

Are the indicator bulbs different to what lights up the “orange” part of the headlights when full lights are on?

As you can hopefully see from the below photos, the indicator is working fine when only on hazards/indication but off otherwise.

TIA for any help.
Cheers,
Will

I can't quite understand what you are trying to describe, but the car is quite clever and if a sidelight bulb fails it can light up the indicator bulb instead. Maybe this is what you are experiencing?

Thank you Zulu4, you are absolutely spot on.

My issue is the same as in this thread (but described much much worse)… https://zroadster.org/threads/resolved-faulty-side-lights-caused-front-indicator-glowing-if-no-main-beam-on.20117/

It was the sidelight which is out, annoyingly the sidelight the other side is so dim I didn’t realise. I’ll probably replace both
