Bulb blown warning light

Here is my dilema. My Z has two rear foglights and both have the wiring connected but only one (the drivers side) has a live feed. Had to get the passengers side fog connected to allow the Z to get it's TUC (German equivalent of MOT) done. Had no idea of where the break is in the connection to the passengers side, so I proceeded to cut the wire that was not live and then connect the end coming from the passengers fog light into the cable that is live fed into the drivers side fog light. Done this by unclipping the connector into the drivers rear light cluster and opening it up and attaching the other wire into the connector block. Both lights work fine but the bloody warning light that indicates a blown bulb has appeared on the dash. Suppose I should not of had the lights on at the time when I was disconnecting things. My question is, have I done something wrong hence why the light will not go off even after disconnecting the battery for 10 mins or do I have to get it reset at the main dealer?
