Day off today so jumped in the MC and took a ride out into Kent ending up inevitably at Brands Hatch for lunch and some bike track day watching. The old girl never missed a beat and I'm looking forward to further springtime hacks including of course, the Duxford Spring Car Show

Lovely looking car Inks 8) :driving:

Such a great afternoon I decided to treat the breadvan to some springtime TLC. After a few trips out recently she wasn't really dirty but I wanted to polish the paintwork and clean the windows properly.

So after a quick 2 bucket method shampoo, I dried with a couple of microfibres and got busy with the claybar. Wasn't that much to take off if I'm honest and after wiping down I reached for the AG Super Resin Polish and got working. Wheels were treated with AG wheel cleaner and Poorboys Wheel Sealant. (Was planning to wax but ran out of time).

Now the 16 year old Imola paintwork under close inspection is very swirly and these images flatter, but from a few feet away she's shining like a cherry bomb!

One of these days I'll get her over to KDS in Gillingham or tap Lynchy up for some 1-2-1 lessons on DA polishing and paint correction, but for now Im quite happy with the results.

Perhaps we can get Eddie to teach a few of us one morning. Feel like I'm getting nowhere fast with my DA sometimes.

Now that sounds like a plan

Build update [always feels a bit silly on a Z4 forum updating on a Z3].

Enjoying the start of summer and getting out more and more. Oil service last week at ETA Motorsport and she's singing. Discovered a tiny oil leak which I suspect is the common Constant Pressure Valve fault, but luckily I have one already from when I bought the car so going to get that sorted ASAP.

In other news I've also just ordered a roof rack! Found a great Thule fixed point 751 foot kit and old school square bars. Figured that apart from being able to transport my bike around better I'd go for the Mad Max look.

Pictures to follow once installed.

Update. Booked the car into my Indy to check the CPV for a leak. Once sorted she'll be tip top once again and I can focus my attention fettling the paintwork and seeing how good I can get it.

Roof bars, feet and fitting kit all en route so could be fitting this weekend.

In the meantime and because I'm bored, here's a picture of the drivers seat before and after I used the Gliptone kit last weekend. Looks more matt than in the picture bit I'm pretty pleased with it, and the dirt that came off was worth it. Plus an interior shot as It was looking pretty good in the sunshine :D

Well that was all going too well.

Received my eBay bought Thule 751 foot pack, square bars and 3065 fitting kit today. Went to fit at lunchtime and the rear of the car roof is too narrow for the bar which only slides down to a mark numbered 15. It's about 3 or 4 inches out.

:headbang:

Crapsticks. I love breadvans, i just never liked the interior finish on the centre console :( i guess carbon wrapping could work!

Pics still look lovely, i bet it's a blast to drive. No doubt something i'll be paying double for in 15 years time for nostalgia.

The silver sprayed plastic centre console? I'd be confused as to whether i'd sat in a Z3MC or a Chrysler Crossfire... :p

No offence meant at all, im just taking the piss. I also dont like the silver :D

Inkey$,

Just been out in mine and it sends greetings to yours. :driving: Have you gutted a pair of OEM silencers? Awesome!

Love your car  Greetings back from the Imola. Not gutted the silencers. Might try and pick up a spare pair this summer though and give it a go. Got a week off work soon so planning a few drives out :driving:
