Build Date and Delivery date

Question for those of you that have brought new.

Apparantly my car is stil waiting on date when it goes into build. The dealer is saying he can give me a better idea on delivery data once it does (current date is mid june :( )

Once I get this date how long does it actually take to build and deliver the car?
 
Mine has been built in the factory and is just waiting to be delivered.

I was told it typically takes about 3 weeks to get the car into the dealership after it rolls off the production line in Regensburg. Then the dealership need another week to do their prep and tests on the vehicle. So basically a month if it all goes smoothly.

My build date was over a month after I ordered it, but it was a busy time of year (new reg). The build week was confirmed 2 weeks before it went into production, and the dealer said it can move both forward or backward in time until it is confirmed.
 
I remember with mine, dealer called me on a Monday to say its started to be built, rang on the Wednesday to say it had been built, then it took about a month to arrive including pdi :( I think sometimes they will delay delivery until they have enough cars for the transporter to the dealership.

From date of order to me actually collecting the car from the dealer took 12 weeks. I was told 8 weeks but one of the reasons for the delay was that Christmas was bang in the middle of the waiting time. You can ask the dealer for the VIN number and watch the updates on line.

What?! Seriously? I read on another forum that that this was only available in the US. Where do you go to track your order? I have my VIN!
 
I'm not sure how now, I googled it and found how to do it on a forum. I had to register with BMW site and it told me the expected build date, when they were building it and its journey here. It told me the pdi was done near hull somewhere and the dealer just basically cleaned it up.
 
Car is being built!

Delivery due week 23 (3rd June). Dealer says he may be able to get it earlier once built....

Fingers crossed but may only be 3 weeks away!!!!
 
Just ring your dealer every day for progress update! Who cares if you piss him off, it's your car, make him earn his commission!!!
 
Mine has only took 2 weeks from build date to arrival at dealership,another week for the pdi and bits.saw it fresh off the transporter. Quite a shock,the thing looked like it was stilts,massive gap between top of wheels and arch. :cry: transport blocks, thank god.
 
Mine was ordered on March 17th (St Patricks day !)

Pick-up day was supposedly May 10th but has been put back slightly to May 21st.

It's made but waiting to be shipped........
 
It's at port of exit whatever that means......

In other news dealer is lending me a 320 convertible for the weekend it's not a zed but ....
 
It's a long wait I know and someone said that to me, sorry couldn't resist :)
At least you can be sure it's not going to be snowed in the week you get it like mine was. Torture :)
