Buggered the CD player

The CD player has been working perfectly until I tried to reset the time display.
Is there a way I could have screwed up the CD player by playing with the S/R button?

I can't see how messing with the S/R button would affect the CD player.

I have to mess with it twice a year when the clocks change but my CD player hasn't been affected. (Yet).
 
There is a special service menu you can get into by pressing those buttons. That menu can likley biggest stuff up but this sounds like a coincidence unless you saw the words test come up on the dash display area.
