Bugger!

hang on... These twits busted your bleed nipples, and your paying to get them fixed?/replaced calliper? WTF??

"oh sorry, while we were servicing your car, we blew up the engine, that will be 15K please for a new donk."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Ive never heard anything more ludicrous (well i probably have, but this is just stupid)

Sorry for the lack of a reply, I arrived back from my honeymoon yesterday rather jet lagged so decided to pick up my car from its extended stay at the dealer and grab some fresh air on the drive home. All worked out well in the end, car looks great now the tired flakey wheels have been given a refurb back from bare metal and the vibration under firm braking is also gone so it was worthwhile changing the discs and pads whilst it was all apart at a price I'd struggle to do myself for parts alone.

If anybody has a guide or advice on how to change the rear discs and pads plus handbrake shoes and adjustment I'd like to do them myself when the weather is warmer for a matching set all round. A set of pilot super sports will finish it off nicely :)

Great end to the day when your friendly BMW service centre advises you that they sheared the nipples off both front brake callipers when you go to collect your car.... I did begin to wonder why they hadn't called.

Bugger - two new callipers :(

I argued when BMW did this to me. Ended up getting it all sorted FOC. Argue your case - they should not be breaking parts on your car, regardless of age/mileage. They should know they're fragile and soak them prior to removal if they suspect they're seized.

Jesus that must have been some hamfisted arse bandit working on them. I have had the pleasure of working on 20+ year old E36 calipers and never snapped a nipple before. Just soak them overnight and even when they are that rusted you can't get a spanner on, just hammer on a socket and get them out that way...
