I haven't used the ///M for a few weeks now, decided to get it out of the garage and give it a run, jumped in, turned the key............. Click click click click click click, you get the idea, so charging up and let's see what tomorrow brings :(

What no trickle charger ?
Bummer & hope it hasn,t put certain features " sleep" as mine had done , air-con/re demist i think wouldn't work without a fettle

:(

Check the battery indicator, mine went dead during the summer but couldn't be recharged, not sure if it's an automyth but once it goes to a certain low level, it won't hold onto any charge for long, so it's a flat batt timebomb

hope you've caught it in time though :)

Thanks guys, it started fine on Monday as I had to move it but in fairness it hasn't had a decent run in a while, I do periodically charge it up but it's slipped my mind recently

Thanks Stuart, I missed that thread, I'm sure there will be quite a few infrequent runners having similar issues.

I only tend to use mine once a week at best but it did have a New battery on it just before I bought it, my cerb had a trickle charger as if you left that for two weeks it would be flat even on a new battery!

I like the suggestion of using the M as a daily...if only money for fuel grew on trees!

And get a Ctek battery maintainer so it doesn't happen again. :poke:

Which one do I need?

Halfords have various ones from £37 - £130??

Thanks

Might be cheaper from Amazon, but the MXS3.6 or 5.0 are fine for normal maintenance

Sorry to hear that Darren. Has it gone into transport mode or dont you know until you've added some charge? I use a £15 trickle charger from Lidl. Works a treat and keeps the battery nice and conditioned. Ctek are the main 'premium' brand of choice I think.

Thanks Inkey$,

Oh dear Transport Mode sounds ominous , I don't know yet :?

I am just in the garage and she started straight away, everything works except the clock on the radio and instrument panel, showing --:-- and my trip mileage is back at 000.0, I'll have to look at my handbook to reset the clock, I'm going to keep it on charge overnight .
