Bugger... arrived and it was sold :(

Had spotted a Z4 3.0 with almost full spec (Carver, 108, msports) in Toledo Blue pop up on Trader on thursday night (wasn't there, then was at 9pm), rang on Friday lunch to book a viewing on Sat lunch. And best of all it was only 30 miles away, not 200+
I turned up and it had sold already! £11,000 and I was all ready to buy it, prepped the cheque from my savings and organised some credit, insurance all confirmed.

Shame the garage hadn't got back to me to say it was sold to save me a trip there, or the person I spoke to actually being there to greet me at the time as promised :(
I was all ready to post up here saying I'd finally got one and post my pictures of the Z4... how gutted am I

Ah well, life goes on :D

I've put in an order with the very good local garage who let me try out their 2.5Si, for an early 3.0 with xenons, M sports, and 18" upgraded wheels... as they are the main things I want really. All the rest I'm not really fussed about, so hopefully they will find me one.
If they can be found for £11k fully loaded from a trader, then I guess an £11k budget should be enough to get me the right one from the vast selection the trader network has access to :D
(I've probably seen a good 6 cars in the last 8 weeks with M sports go at traders so there seems to be a fair few out there)

Has anyone else used a trader to source a car at their desired spec? I've just decided it's worth the small ish premium (if there even is one considering it's guaranteed business for them) to save me travelling all over the UK in my limited time!

Thanks for reading. Hopefully won't be long now until I'm a proper Z4 forum member (actually owning one hehe)

I had the same thing happen to me when I looked for my Zed. I spent 3 weekends driving over 400 miles looking and test driving. I had called to make sure the car was still for sale each time I traveled and many times when I got there the car was already sold. One time, one was just leaving the lot as I got there. Another time it had been sold to another car lot so I had to travel to that lot to look at it. It was a dog that appeared to have been under water so I did not purchase it. You have to be ready to buy when you see a real great one. I finally did get exactly what I wanted except for the color which I am starting to like (silver), but it has all the options I wanted and is in excellent shape and runs like a dream. Keep looking you will be successful. :)

It's weird about the colour, as I've not though of Toledo Blue before, but in the skin it looked really good on the Z4 with 108's!

I think I'll like any colour really, the Z4 makes most colours look good :D
