Broken stubby

Not sure if someone has broken it or there wasn't enough glue on it but it's bust so the whip is back on. Peed off as well as it was an official one as well. Gonna try see if the dealer will swap it but not holding out hope

The current bmw offering is the 83mn which has a fat bottom. They discontinued the 105mm I had that one on my E88, wasn't a looker in my opinion hence why I didn't take it off when I sold the car. I also noticed that even going under a fly over I lost reception. I'm on the look out for a new stubby myself but I'm sure I'll need to compromise either on reception or look

The BMW stubby sports aerial I've found works perfectly but its not exactly cheap, the Peugeot/Citroen stubby aerials fit which are cheap but I've found reception can be poor.

Tim.

Yes, the Peugeot stubby fits, but the lower joining edge is not perfectly lined up with the surround from the car. Reception is ok where I am, but not as strong as the whippy was.

I have a genuine BMW sport rod (stubby) and reception is perfect

It's only on as my car is garaged and covered with a fitted dust sheet.
I can't make my mind up which I prefer, probably the whip but it's a pain to take it off every time I cover the Z up.

I bought a stubby from E-bay.

The reception is far, far better than the standard whip.

I bought it from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHORT-STUBBY-AERIAL-FITS-MINI-BMW-VW-CITROEN-FIAT-MORE-/251434001259?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a8aa2636b
