Broken Springs - List (add yourself if you've been affected)

I've made it onto the list- one rear broken Z4M coupe, 39k.

Had my rear discs and pads replaced yesterday thanks to maindealerdiscount.com. Informed at BMW Huddersfield that the rear drivers side spring snapped. Replacing both rears today. Told that there is a 2 year warranty on parts as long as they are fitted by an approved garage. MOT also today so hopefully will get them fitted at Halfords autocentre later today.

Decided not to get eibach springs as they are not original and so will have a negative effect on car insurance and more importantly ground clearance! (Paying particular consideration to the NW pothole/speed bumps dilemma) Quoted £109 each for the springs from Halliwell jones, so not too too bad considering they have a 2 year warranty.

Welcome to the Forum Nev, as you can see, a very common issue with Z4's (and other BM's of this age)

Rear springs snapped on 50k miles, replaced all today with a set of Eibachs. I'm sure some of the parts used on these cars are from recycled beans cans.

Yikes! May just swap mine out for Eibach springs to be on the safe side as my z has done over 70k

Broken Rear sping on my z4 2.5l mileage 43k. Not sure what part i need to get as replacement.

My OS rear has snapped at the bottom, rust coming through on NS rear. Time to get both replaced.

I replaced mine with the recommended Suplex items a month or two ago on my 3.0si coupe. Supply only from "Jaystock" in Loughborough - £65.73 for the pair.

I originally called Suplex direct, but they put me forward to Jaystock

They were both replaced in under an hour. Easy peasy!

N/S rear spring

2009 Z4 Coupe with 37k on the clock.

My third Z4, and third set or rear springs needed.

My original Z4 E85 (53 plate) needed two new rear springs. Didn't notice in the drive though.
