Might want to consider some Eibachs or H&R springs.

Both replaced yesterday. Wow...what a difference in comfort! Doesn't feel as hard as before one of the springs broke.

Not sure if I was affected, but the previous owner of my 2004 Alpina Roadster had both rear springs replaced just before I bought the car. '54 Plate Roadster S, about 29K miles.

not sure if I count ....................
Just swapped my 2.0 lt for an M series
Part of the deal was they would supply a new MOT, which they did - and in doing so, had to replace the springs cos they were cracked.

Shamless plug guys

School boy error and fitted non-M Sport springs to my coupe

Fitted the correct ones now so have a set of virtually brand new non-M Sport springs for sale (UniPart):

Happened to my old Z4 (07 reg) in April this year.
Z4 2.0 SE. Drivers side rear spring. Heard a strange rattle, turned the music off, and then saw it bouncing away into the distance behind me :(.

Well today was my day after nearly four years of ownership of two Zed's the dreaded three words BROKEN REAR SPRING,the car was in the dealers having it's yearly checkup this morning and on return to collect the car i was told the bad news and also they didn't have a replacement in stock so i've left it with them till next Saturday.
The good news the car is still under warranty

PS It was the drivers side that had gone.

Another 4000 miles and another broken spring. Had the OSR replaced and covered by Vines BMW a little out of warranty, but now using a local indie. It was in for oil and brake fluid and MOT so let him replace it. I'm thinking of mounting the broken bits on a rusty plate as a salutary lesson in BMW ownership. They must have expected the second one to fail sooner or later.

I'm a bit puzzled here. Did they (Vines) only change the OSR spring??? If so, what were they doing?...always change in pairs!

Was the new break in the same spring, or its oppo?

My car had its inspection 1 last friday... broken OSR coil.... under 4 years and covered 18K miles!

Lucky i had an extended warranty... But now they have been replaced will get some eibach's fitted :D

Asked the dealer if its a common problem... and he was very frank and said their parts department is like a mattress store... especially for the X3 and 3 series.

Just replaced a pair of broken rear springs this week! I believe the car had passed two MOTs with broken springs! One last may and one last month when I bought car.
