I put 2 new springs on my car just over 10,000 miles ago ( BMW ones) ,and one has broken again already.How crap is that!!Very unimpressed I can tell you......What options are there for alternatives? I don't want Eibach's as they lower it and tbh it is low enough already.What has anyone else fitted?, I'm reluctant to fit another set of BMW ones if they are going to keep breaking. :x

PITA :x

Have looked into this quite a lot and there is nothing that does any less than 30mm drop (15mm from sport), that I could find. Tein do 25mm drop, but not available through the UK.

This has some more info: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15781&#p230633

If you had them fitted by a dealer I'd push back on them. There should be some warranty. I had mine done under good will, after the warranty had expired. Worth a try.

Unfortunately they were fitted 18 months ago, at at my local tyre place,they used genuine BMW springs and the BMW dealer told them there was nothing they were prepared to do,so I've had the bums rush as far as warranty goes. Has anyone tried any aftermarket ones,surely they are bound to be as good as the originals? Or shall I be the guinea pig??

i've just gone for the Eibach route dude.. i refuse to buy shite from BMW...

What's 15mm? your broken springs probably dropped your car 3cm anyhows and you didn't even notice lol

im currently in the middle of trying to get bmw take some responsibility for the fact te springs break

maybe they will maybe the wont ill see!

Save up for Coil-overs?

* Strong
* Adjustable
* Better handling (in some cases)
* 2 Year warranty mostly.

BMW parts come with a 2 year warranty don't they?

Not sure if it 12 or 24 months, but if fitted under warranty they are only warrantied until the end of that warranty.

I had the top half of my engine replaced, but warranty would only have been for 8 months had I not extended it.

I must admit, I'm tempted to go for the coilovers if they really are worth the cash.My shocks must be at the end of their life anyway at over 6 years and 44k old.

This is correct!! I bought one 3 weeks ago and asked the exact question!

The guy at the dealership said 2 years warranty! Take it back!
