had a very productive weekend which involved have front bumper off and changing lower front plastic corners and trimming back the new corners so the //M bumper sat correctly and fitting the brake duct brackets correctly (for some reason the brackets were attached to the duct, but not bolted to the car?????) so now everything sits solid and true and has made me very happy!

altho whilst under there i noticed the air scoop below is broke, not sure of correct name etc but i wondered if there was any after market upgrade while im replacing it to go for, or is it just to replace like for like?

thanks

RPI air scoop:

Or you can make something up yourself.

Bad Pritt did one with a piece of drainpipe

If it's a daily driver and driven in rain etc no matter what I advise to use the OEM part.
It is partly designed as a shield. If too much moisture/wet air (like spray from the car in front) gets into the filterbox the filter itself gets wet and moisture can be sucked to the MAF. That will destroy your maf and that's a fairly expensive sensor.

Would it matter that it's only the baby engine, 2.0i ? I assumed the big boy rpi scoops were for the 3.0si and M engines?

And yes mines a daily driven car, 7 days a week to and from work and then out and about at weekends

I might still have the OEM scoop from when I replaced mine for the rpi. It looks the same as for the M but guess better check.

If you can confirm that the part numbers are the same, I will go in the garage loft to get it. Postage charge only.

imageshack seems to be down at the moment, as the pictures were there last night,
