So I'm driving along today, put my foot down and nothing. Total lack of power. Drove it my local(ish) dealer who diagnosed a faulty exhaust side cam poison sensor (something like that).


Car is currently at the dealers and I have a lovely honda jazz to potter round in lol.

On the plus side I got this for the mrs

Hope it is something and nothing. This kind of thing shakes sense into my head when I think about getting an M///, which is daily rather than weekly :rofl: Which is your local dealer then? - I thought it would be Lloyds (old Woodmans?)

Fingers crossed for a simple fix like a vanos solenoid.

The 1 series coupe is lovely. Lucky wife!
 
Cam position sensors are around £100 iirc...

20 mins to fit,and i guess a diag fee..

BAck on the road for small spuds..
 
Just got the call........




It's fixed, turns out all was fine once the cam sensor was replaced....

Cost???? In total.... £150!!!!

Very happy, me and the mrs will be picking up out cars tomorrow!!

Good Result, glad it's fixed for not a huge amount being an ///M :thumbsup:
 
M is a bit more expensive tho. Especially if you have a few miles mine was at 56k when I extended the warranty.

Mine is the fully insured warranty £80pm with a £100 excess. Shoots up the difference between 55k and 60k was £30pm.

Seems expensive but used it once in November for ONE Xenon full bill would have been £800 paid for itself already.
 
I'm pleased for you that it was fairly cheap! Have you noticed any difference in the engine?
