Broken inner grab handle?

Hi guys,

A car that I am looking at has a broken interior grab handle, drivers door. The silver bit that runs up the middle is loose and wobbly, I am just wondering is this something I should worry about. Is it an easy fix? I hoped it was a case of some clips being broken and just needing to get a new silver bit and clipping it in to place?

You can get a new silver bit... But they are £27 each from BMW Direct on eBay. If it's a dealer, get them to fix it before you buy / collect if you decide you like the car.
 
Hi Bing, it is indeed from a dealer. I will say to him about fixing it then! Glad to hear it is an easy enough job. Gear knob is a bit scuffed too, but I think I'll probably be changing it any way.
 
Sounds like a bit roughly treated car though. You sure you would want that?
 
Gear knob could be scuffed from a wedding ring though PVR, and the grab handles are easily broken when you are taking the door cards off if you don't know exactly how to do it :whistle:
 
It really isn't roughly treated actually. It seems to be great, I am going back tomorrow for another look and another test drive.

Strange conclusion to jump to, it could just have been an accident :?
 
PVR wears special driving clogs and kid gloves when he drives his though :poke: :D
 
I am a bit of a worrier at times, times like buying a new car. So that has worried me hahaha :lol:

You forgot about the cack handed landing in the driver seat to avoid damaging the bolster :oops:
 
Do you know what, I did think about mentioning your bolster obsession, but thought that might be going too far as I was just having a laugh. You just reminded me there is no 'too far' with a Dutchman :thumbsup:
 
So you are not really surprised than that I have a towel in the boot so that my "wet" shoes can rest on that in the foot well whilst I am driving in the driving shoes? :P
 
Nope, not one bit.

However, if I paid what you must have for my baby, brand new, specced exactly the way I wanted it, I would make anyone who sat in it take their shoes off, watch them very carefully as they got in, then ask them politely to clean the seat after they got out :D
 
And don't forget the no jeans rule.

I bought a very nice Scottish rug whilst on the Z run in Ullapool, that is covering the seat if a passenger joins who is not up to spec :)
