Quick update. A plastic piece has been plasti welded on to the broken bit, but no hole drilled, so I can line it up and drill the right size hole at the right place (no pressure...).
I've tested the angel eye rings and they look nice and bright (although inside on a table is not the same as on the car in bright sunlight). Hope to get them mounted this weekend.
