Broken bracket question

Hi, that part’s not available separately from bmw so most people fix it back together with replacement bolts. In the meantime put some cable ties around the alloy tube & the cover to help lash the thing together until it’s fixed

I just drilled the holes bigger and got some carriage bolts form Wilco store, made a neat job of fixing.
Also helps to spread the load over a larger area.

I have found a Hot Glue gun very useful to fix BMW plastic that seems very brittle in our cold climate!
Welds all sorts of bits and bobs including a broken pop up headlamp washer

I used the bolts to spread the load, but the main problem is bad design. There is a pin that puts a point load on the plastic if people are ham fisted pulling the protector out into position. The load is putting a splitting pressure on the bracket, so it splits apart.
