Brokem M alloy help and advice needed.

This morning I set off for work didn't even get out of the estate when I crashed side on to a curb stone. Unfortunately I decided to start off in second which I thought was the right thing to do in snow, but the anti stall kicked in and sped me up and I couldn't then turn OR STOP in time to avoid the curb. This is what happened!

assume its not repairable, unless one of you knows better? If not repairable I'm now looking for a front M wheel. So has any one got one for sale?
Also I'm concerned that I may have damaged the cars steering rack, suspension etc. I was probably doing less than 10mph when it happened, I'm hoping that I haven't done too much damage. Any advice on wheel repair, wheels for sale and what could need looking at by a garage would be appreciated.
 
Ah gutted :-( I'm not sure about the alloy although it is a fair chunk, however check the sidewall of the tyre for any damage and at the very least your tracking !

Sorry to see/hear of your misfortune :(

Alloys can be repaired but as a significant 'safety' element in keeping you safe on the road - not for me. New or secondhand is your best bet. But in buying SH make sure its not a bent repaid etc

Yup would certainly get the tracking checked as Tom suggests (with the new wheel on of course) and a quick visual check of the rest including the tyre side wall - just for peace of mind.

.....and I wouldn't use the vehicle with a wheel in that condition.

As above check the tyre, if its not losing pressure it can be weldable.. Prob about £150 repair from the wheel specialist.

Also handy setting the dsc one step off... Allows for some spin before kicking in.

.....with an approximate new price of £290 (best check with BMW) think I would go for a new rim.

I'd look for one from eBay or similar too, that looks far too much damage to repair, must have been some crunch, gutted for you :(

Argh, it is painful when this happens. I did similar a few winters back, ended up with a big bill. Lower arm was also bent.

Took the wheel off this morning and couldn't see any further damage. Was it obvious that the lower arm was damaged when you broke your wheel? Steering wheel still seems central and both wheels look straight but probably aren't spot on will have to get the tracking done and was thinking of taking it to a garage to see if the can spot any problems. Take it you bought a new wheel as yours looks even worse than mine. Thanks in advance.
 
No i couldn't tell it was bent, as i swapped the wheel and drove to garage fine. Guess it was spotted doing alignment.
