Broke DISA valve when trying to remove - repairable?

Quick job on my list for Sunday afternoon - check the DISA valve. I've watched the Youtube videos and its a quick and easy job. I removed the two torx screws and was really struggling to slide it out. So I started to gently lever it with a screwdriver. Still didn't budge, so levered a bit more and out the screwdriver through the casing on the valve.
Then I realised the lower torx screw I removed wasn't the one holding the DISA valve, but another next to it

So now my DISA valve looks like this...

Was does this casing do or contain? Is there a vacuum in there? I was wondering if I could cut a peice of plastic (maybe from a food container) and silicone it over the hole.

Do you still trust that valve when so much excessive force is put onto it?

This is something I've never seen... :o

This is a case of learn by your mistake and buy a new one. No way would I rely on this critical part plastic welded or patched. If it fails it's bits straight into the engine.

Took mine out yesterday and have done so several times to check it but never had to lever it out :o :o
