Britain's got talent - results

Watched this last night, and liked the winning performance until that speech from the coach.

"we are working on getting to the world championship but for now, we will celebrate this win".

Now that was completely wrong in my opinion, so this is not a random home grown act but a professional outfit? Thought the purpose was that people were "discovered" so to speak, not some professional outfit from participating. What is next - Take That performing in X-factor and trying to win it?

Not right in my opinion ...

Not a fan of any of these types of programmes personally but surely the point is that they are a home grown talent - a talent that is not normally in the public eye and therefore has been discovered by the programme...?

Having watched their performance on youtube I was in awe - it was nice to see that Britain does have some talent and the public took to this. Look like worthy winners to me

I'm with pvr...

the winners had a coach and were already competing, whereas everyone else was undiscovered.

Britain's Got Talent is about the only one of these types of shows I will watch.

Got to say its the only one I watch,,,

saying they are a pro outfit (Definition of which, is earning your living by it, and they cant enter the world championships if they are), but saying that I personally dont have an issue with that, so are many that go on, the comedian that was on there, had been doing it proffesionally for 25 years!, it was good that so many ametuers gave them a run for there money, many pros auditioned, even the bloody Cheeky Girls at one stage  ,

I wanted the singing doorman to win :(

I think the show is ruined by the sheer number of dance acts/singing groups/singer-songwriters that appear on it. I don't know if it's a true representation of the acts that enter or just the production team trying to pander to the masses based on the last few winners. It was nice to see quite a variety in the final however.

I sort of vaguely watched the series (as Mrs CJ and daughters watch it) Not sure I can agree with PVR here else many of the acts could not have been on stage. Can't even remember the backgrounds of many but the Scottish old gal has been a pub and club singer all her life, the comedian is a professional on the holiday circuit. There were pro ship entertainers and similar all along the route. The gymnasts were pure amateurs. Coach an idiot in his words, but didn't expect to be on stage.

End of the day it's just entertainment manipulated by the producers and of course SC to ensure 1) it gets audience 2) massive telephone voting and revenue and 3) a preview of thousands of acts he can pick through to sign up to his company.

Yes - I appreciate that a lot of them have been doing things in the past, but are waiting for that break to be made. Winning this could be life changing for an act that has never got anywhere yet.

The winning act was great, without a doubt, but knowing that they were already in mainstream competitions and "on the up" so to speak.

And with regards to watching it - having a laptop on your lap browsing forums whilst being in the lounge with family is a win-win situation :D
