Bringing a peculiar colour combo to the West Midlands

Hi all, I've lurked on this forum for a few months since buying my car, thought I should finally get around to posting some pictures and introducing the car. It is a 2007 3.0si in Phoenix Yellow with a manual gearbox. I fell in love with the exterior colour; the paint absolutely sparkles in the sun;

However there is no getting away from the Oregon beige leather interior. It just does not complement the exterior.

This car was well looked after by its first few owners, neglected a little by those in the middle and then lovingly brought back up to scratch by more recent owners (new springs, dampers, wheels, roof motor relocation). It has swapped hands a number of times and the mileage is sailing toward 100k. The car is by no means a garage queen, I commute in it and it never skips a beat. Only done a few bits so far;

  • Installed front and rear facing dash cams

  • Installed the stick on Android unit

  • Added speakers to the door cards

  • Rotary brushed a few years of grot out of all the interior carpets

  • Removed a load of "M Performance" accoutrements. The floormats and seatbelt cushions were easy enough to throw into my shed; next are those reg plate surrounds.

I did a lookup on this database and filtered down to 3.0si with this paint and leather combo;

It is apparently the only roadster worldwide with this combo, but that interior has to go. It isn't nice to look at, it doesn't go with the exterior. When I scramble some funds together for the work, I'll be asking for some advice on trusted business who could assist with dyeing the seat leather. Also I need to sort out the alcantara clad wheel; it is crumbling in my hands. However I sneaked a peek behind the steering wheel plastic trims, and the black leather ain't looking so hot either...

I would be very interested to know if anyone on this forum has seen/owned this car before. Hopefully nice anecdotes rather than horror stories, but interested either way! Cheers.

Hello and welcome . Nothing to do with me but there are a pair of seats and door cards on eBay you might be interested in https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126507865763

Very interesting, but I think that might end up being too much yellow for me! I was thinking whether I could get my existing seats redone to a complementary colour, perhaps navy blue. Then get replacement interior trim panels in black, recolour my calipers blue, get some 5 spoke wheels in satin grey, then maybe find a phoenix yellow hardtop...

This hypothetical train of thought has already emptied my savings account, so perhaps not.

Welcome to the forum with your unique E85. :thumbsup:

The beige interior really doesn't work with PY, but that Bi-colour one on Ebay would look stunning IMHO. But if it's out of budget a black interior may be the easiest to track down. Don't forget you ought to get a chunk of cash back for your current M-Sport seats.
