Brexit prep ...

With one month to go, besides the business side mess, started the personal stuff as well as I will be driving to NL early in the New Year.

So far - applied for the Green Card for the insurance, looking at the international drivers licence next as well. I am sure that the French will loooooove making life as difficult as possible so don't want to be denied access due to some 1940s paper that I don't happen to have. Need to check travel insurance next to make sure I have full cover as we will have lost the E111 now as well.

Should escape the passport queue hopefully as I have a European passport, but can't take our dog as they still don't know how to deal with that.

Just need to think what I need to buy this month before the 10% duty level gets added.

Anything else that needs doing I wonder ....

Don’t get me started on the UKCA mark, also need to find an importer within Europe to take legal responsibility for our goods exported to the EU.

Fecking stupid, honestly do you remember someone saying it would be the easiest deal in history, retards :x and how many of you lot on here that voted to leave, would have if you’d known that we would leave without a deal.

sars - having the same issue, but as my products are small I will take a car load over next time I go and will store it in NL to be shipped from there. 70% is Euro based trading, 20% USA so already have the bank accounts in the relevant currencies and outside of the UK so depending on how this is all ending up, will use a holding BV to trade in Europe instead and pay the taxes there instead.

Pretty amazing how many gaps have not even be thought about at all.

Not that amazing or surprising that we are where we are considering the whole UK political scene is full of greedy self centred "educated" half wits who left alone would struggle to run their own bath  as a nation that supposedly stands with the elite its on the verge of scandalous , its certainly inept & the government should actually be embarrassed that we are 30 days from the end game & virtually nothing has been agreed , clarified or in a position to roll out .
No doubt Covid well get the blame at some point but the whole situation should have been debated , discussed & confirmed 18 months ago .
Its isn't hard to predict the chaos that will be seen Jan / Feb / Mar & no doubt beyond & its not about "you lot on here who voted out " to sort it (i didn't cast a vote either way as i couldn't see a reason for or against from a personal perspective ) its about the fooktards in the positions of responsibility being paid silly sums & producing nothing .

Hello Paul, FYI

- all cars must have the separate black & white GB sticker, it’s no longer legal just to have GB on the numberplate (there was differing advice, but now the Gov website makes it clear)
- IDP/Intl Driving Permit. Really easy to get from the post office, £5 & mine lasts for 3 years
- green card. Check which countries it is valid for
- Green card. If you tow a trailer, you need one for that even if under 750kg... over that needs to be separately registered with numberplate
- if a member of your direct family holds an EU passport, you won’t need a visa for stays over 90 days, but you will need to consider applying for temporary residency. Permanent residence or obtaining an EU passport is nigh on impossible now
- the need to carry your passport at all times in the car when you drive + other docs were always mandatory, but a softer line being in the EU was often taken - that will now change.
- passports must have a minimum of 6 months before expiry or you will face being refused to travel
- out of date passports, no longer accepted. For example, if you tried entering Portugal with a U.K. passport almost 3 years out of date, under EU Law they would let you in. If you are German passport holder, anything up to 5 years out of date & they would still let you in
- mobile phone contracts. Refer to operator
- car accidents. In short, don’t have one as the reciprocal arrangements still haven’t been resolved which will mean is unlikely they will recover costs so your premium will sky rocket
- sign up for U.K. Gov updates
- if you have to go for business meetings, depending on the country you may or may not need a visa & it’s still not clear if you do or don’t on various country websites

F’in joke...
