How about Stoptech's kit? I hear very good things about them and they might be a bit cheaper than Brembo's. I have no idea if they actually fit though... http://ca-automotive.co.uk/single_prod-cHJvZF9pZD0xNzcyJmNhcl9tYWtlPWJtdyZjYXJfdHlwZT16NCZjYXRfaWQ9ODAmY29tcF9pZD00Mg==.html

They do look good and the bumf they write sounds convincing ...........

They generally get pretty positive reviews. Another option is AP Racing although they dont do a rear kit if i remember correctly. Also keep in mind that you may need to swap wheels as well. The vast majority of these big brake kits dont fit on the stock 18inch wheels. (I'd love to be corrected of course as a set of Stoptechs is on my wish list..)

If this a front upgrade only. Wont that cause chaos with the brake bias and cause the fronts to lock up all the time?

Yes - it most certainly will cause issues if you go as far as Brembo front only and make no alteration to the rear. I'm not sure teamemmenracing intends to do that, but equally the comment about using the rear brake on bikes misses the obvious single pedal set up of cars and no brake bias adjuster as standard.

My feeling is worst case scenario under heavy braking the fronts would try to lock and the ABS cut in while the rears are still rotating. Pesonally I'd want a full all round set up of mated calipers, pads, disks and the correct master cylinder travel/displacement. If I were tracking then I'd want the balance. For road it's a lot of money for show only at the front.

I know it's not teamemme.... intention but the 330 upgrade unlike the comment above makes a significant improvement for road use by significantly larger disks, larger pads with more area, larger caliper (although of course still BMW's basic design) and upgrades the prefacelift to the post facelift 3.0 oem set up for very little money. Fits stock rims and uses standard parts. I did it for about £100 as I had to change worn disks and pads anyway.

Possibly another stupid question, but hey, lets put it out there...

How about the Boxter S setup... would that not work with the Z4??

I think the fronts are the same 4 pot brembo's in the OP and getting the rears also should then balance things out no?

p.s. my 330 upgrade cost me £55! :D

I had 4 pot Stop Tech on my old Toyota Celica... and imo unless you have some power on your car the added unsprung weight will make it feel even slower.. my poor celica 190 felt slower to accelerate and stopping.. but they looked damn sexy behind my 18's!
