How old are you? 17? You sound like it.

I don't have any dreams about mods, that's just fcuking odd.

Firstly my Z is not and never will be a project, its just something I wanted to change to and have fun with. Plus I've owned my Z since March, so 4 months and never had any intentions of any 'mods' but it turned out i did a few and I did them this year and not have to wait until next year lol!.

I've also just bought a £250k house which I'm about to complete on with my fiancé, so excuse me for not going bananas on my car.

When did I claim my Z was special? Check my posts, you're the one bleeting on like your driving some kind of super car.

Well ill let you continue with your 'dream' I'm sure that big brake conversion will be very worth while.......
 
Didn't a forum member from Scandanavia supercharge a 2.2?

It was a while back but I'm sure it was an ESS charger.

Problem with some countries is tax. Often cheaper to mod a smaller engine car.

If you want to see what money can do to a Z search femmeT, beedub or bmwz!

Your mod list doesnt seem more then what half a dozen other people have done to their Z's. Namly M clones (which i am guilty of)

I seriously don't sit down and total up what I spend on mods. If I have the money I'll buy what I want, if I don't I won't. I'm not sure what they'll fit but I have the original discs and callipers from my car which only did about 1500 miles before I upgraded to six pot.

Jonny - Mark-Z4 doesn't need as many mods, because (barring the ///M) he's already driving the fastest, top of the range Z :poke: :P

Okay, firstly - pics in your thread, they sound ace :poke:

Secondly, hadn't planned to - was thinking about the Midlands meet, or perhaps even Scotland... Need the funds to travel though, especially up north as that's a bucketload of go-juice :cry:

Hmm know what you mean, costly all these damn events... Wish I could just take the family X3 - much more cost effective. :thumbsup:
 
BBK can add unsprung weight, I would be wary of going too large and looking for a floating rotor with alloy bells and callipers to keep the weight keen.

Swept volume of the callipers will need to be calculated and compared to own to avoid odd pedal behaviour; you also want to ensure the rear brakes are also upgraded to retain a balance from to rear. I don't like touching brakes other than pads and discs, complicated stuff!

Jonny, as said by others, make sure you're careful with the brake bias. When I was all enthusiastic about swapping bits over just for the sake of it, I was advised against a BBK unless it was truly essential.

Yes your wheels are fantastic for showing off a decent brake set up, but I do feel that just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Put a stupid loud sound system in the car instead, and drive around at 30 mph and watch your cabin fill with bits of paper containing phone numbers.
