****Breaking Z4M Coupe

There is a breaker near me who broke an MC last year and he reckoned that they recovered £17K in individual part sales. I know the interior was £2k but don't know of they sold it for that.

On that basis, most Ms are now below scrap value!

There certainly seems little point in repairing one.
 
Hard to see £17,000 in a breaker....

Can see....

£4500 in drivetrain.
£1000-£1500 in trim
£1000 in panels
£600 in wheels
£400 in suspension

Then couple of grand in ancilliary bits and bobs..

Maybe £10k all in ?
 
I don't know where they got the figures from but breakers make their money in the detail. But even at £10k, that's a lot of money when you can get running cars for not much more.
 
Oh yea...

Totally agree..........

Many cars are like that,look at E46 M3...They are available for £6k wuth tax and test... :(

Lol... Of course not...;-) Although he did tell me to F*k off when I told him his prices were ridiculous!
 
Maybe he took it down because iv been messaging him too. I pretty much told him to look on ebay at parts prices before quoting me stupid dealer prices.

Back on eBay now, if anyone is interested.

How come it has Piano Black dash? I thought all M's had that leather carbon effect over the trim, or was it just an option you could pick?
 
You'll notice that although repaired after the cat c and now being broken for fire damage, on the picture of the sill, there is all glass on the floor although in other pictures the door is all good :?

I think the leather dash was the default? but you could choose other finishes if you wished

If you look at the picture of the car i posted then it doesnt look like the car has had any fire damage to the engine..

Hard to see,but there is no blackening of the alloy fuel rail and damage to the rocker cover near the M badge..

 
Possibly some damage that wasn't spotted when it was repaired that went on to cause the fire...
