Breaking - Brand New Z4 - UK

Happened upon this on Ebay yesterday. Must be a recent breaker as I called them 2 weeks ago doing my exhaust project and they had no Z4's in.

Out of curiosity I gave them a call and it's a 2008 <100 miles - brand new!!! 2.0 sport with frontal damage.

I asked them about interiors, etc. but they cannot get to it, so if interested call Stuart today onwards. I have tried earlier, but am going on vacation so no internet or time until tonight.

Nothing I need at present, but has to be good for facelift rear lights, complete interior, hood, etc. I'd even say 3 wheels and brand new tyres.

BTW - If anyone does call I would like retracting door mirrors if it has them - I trust everyone on the board to ask for the price for me :)

Interesting way of selling a car on ebay by selling the nuts ... hmm, will ebay allow this?

It's a very common way people advertise cars for breaking on ebay.
Noticed it few days ago...
Got the boot gas struts as the ends have broken on both of mine ... yawn
They're finding out which seats it's got in it and getting back to me ..yay !
Doesn't have the mid range door speakers though ... :( anybody on here got some going?

Excellent spot, although my first steal would have been the mirrors too.

Daventry is only 10mins from me now, so will try and have a whiz up there on Mon/Tues.. if there's anything left :P

Andy - well you'd best be dropping by there Sat AM then...lol

I know it because I go to the Royal Oak industrial Park around the corner from time to time.

Meanwhile I'm stuck in a hotel North of Sheffiled with no hot water - great

Contacted wrt sports seats :D

OK, just rang, due to popular demand for seats, bumpers, lights etc, they are going to get the car down, get the full specs etc, and auction the popular bits on eBay (mainly lights, seats, bumpers in seperate auctions)

Sensible move... will be interesting to see how much the seats go for :)

what happened to first come first served

To be honest, without them knowing what they actually have to know what price to sell stuff at, they'd be silly to just sell things off at £100 over the phone if they were worth £400 say.

An eBay sale makes total sense to them. Bugger for the rest of us I suppose as now we enter the bidding wars and potentially the people paying way more than it's worth arena... good business for the breaker :)

hi i see you all seen the z4 we put on ebay. if you need parts from it you can call 01327 316030 or email [email protected]
the car is a 2008 has front end dammage. we are NOT putting parts on ebay as bid autions . all prices are 1/2 of the price of new from bmw

thanks intapart

we have over 3000 cars in stock and changing daily

Hi,

We don't normally put overt commercial adverts on the site, but since you are responding to a direct post about a Z4 you are breaking it does make a lot of sense, so thank for doing so.

It would be very helpful if you could post details of a few of parts of the car that cannot be seen, else you'll get a lot of calls and emails

I believe several woudl be interested int he interior: Sport or standard and seat colour.
Does it hav Sat Navigation or any unusual items such as a multi function steering wheel
Does it have electric folding mirrors, etc.

Yep, post up the details/prices you want, and if you still have them.

Will save me ringing just to be told they are sold, or the seller having to tell tens of callers the colour, leccy or not, heated or not, price, and finally, sold or not :D

And thats just for the seats!

I'll ring tomorrow to ask about the seats AGAIN, now they are not going on eBay.

I came accross this car for breaking with red M-sport seats visible....

Not rung them to find out if they're still available.

Well here are the pictures of the silver Z4 ones.

Apparently car is essentially a brand new demonstrator, so very very low mileage, seats are as good as new.

They are heated, but with manual bases.

They are apparently FULL leather. I thought they looked like cloth/alacantra centres, as the facelift cars did come with bi-colour/material seats, but the dismantler did say full leather.

They want £1000 for them, then some extra for delivery.

Had they been leccy bases, I'd have probably gone for them, as I could shift my old seats complete for £400 maybe, so £600 upgrade, but manual base oe seats with heating would probably only go for £250 ish, so a £750 upgrade + hassle of changing bases over. Maybe still worth it... not sure... if they are full leather AND as good as new they will be good I suppose.

Also, from pic 1, they are not electric wing mirrors if people thought they were, nor xenon lights.

Cheers

Dave

Dont think they are full leather either, was thinkging that as scanning through pics before I read your comments.

The centre sections are to taut, if they were leather there would more uneven surface.

Standard half leather interior if you ask me.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking about the leather centres, or lack of!?

I did directly ask but would prefer some better pictures out of the car to prove that fact before I spent that much.

Would still be happy to take fabric centres as they would offer more grip on the base anyway, just not for £1000.

I think they are vastly over pricing those seats, even if full leather. If you have electric bases you could retrofit them easily (I've done it  )

Not much of interest on the car frankly, being a 2.0 and them pitching the prices at half new.

M steering wheel might suit someone, beyond which it's useful if you really need a new hood, trim parts, or perhaps those style wheels. Oh and cupholders...

Must have taken a good hit to deploy the drivers aribag

I think as always the market will dictate the price. I rekon as Si models end up dismantled over being repaired more and more, along with M models, these seats will become more common and more reasonably priced.

Were they £750 and full leather I'd have had them ordered!
