** Now being broken for parts**

Hi guys,

Looking to buy a new car, may have found one and will get confirmation tomorrow if I will be going ahead with the purchase.

My question is, do I brake my car?

It’s only a 2.0 with 126,000 miles so the trade is in only £1500.

The car has a lot of desirable parts,

Half leather heated, manual M sport seats and doorcards in black - Pending sale

Carbon leather dash trim and piano black centre console. - Awaiting to hear back from a member

K sport bbk

2 cup holders - Sold

Cruise control - Sold

M3 strut brace - Sold

ST XTA coilivers

19” csl reps, M3 OEM sizes with pilot sport 4S Tyres. (5mm plus)

M sport mfsw - Sold

Head lights - Sold

Zhp gear knob and leather hand brake

Hardtop with all internal covers.

Wind deflector and all brackets - Sold

2 x first aid boxes and bracket

Black girlls

Lots of power flex bushes/drop links and 2 brand new wish bones (£355) last week.

Am I right to think braking the car I would get more?

Theres £1500 in just 3 of the parts you've listed. Get breaking!

And i didn't even see the hardtop! You've got probably £2500 in a small number of parts without even trying!!!

That’s my thoughts also, over the 7 years I’ve had the car I have spend thousands on upgrades.

If I get confirmation tomorrow of the new car purchase going ahead I’ll look to change this thread to a for sale and list some prices.

I wouldn’t ask much more for the whole car lol

Seats, wheels, hardtop, dash and console, windbreak etc will fly away at the right price and give you a huge return in comparison to the trade-in value.

If it was me I'd sell on the big parts on here then sell the rest of the car to a scrappie for a couple of hundred just to get rid of it

Can I get first dibs on the dash, centre console and leather hand brake please! I’d have had the seats off you as well if they were electric... 8)

Put it up for for £3300 and see what interest you get, it keeps the car together and saves you the headache of selling, removing and posting parts.
Seems a shame to break her :)

Mr. Firesale makes a good point there... the hassle you’ll have if just the wheels go tonight will be a PITA

Good idea, I’m going to put a low price on eBay and see what happens.

I’m lucky that I have two garages where I can break it in.

At least take the hard top off if you were trading it. You could add another £700 onto your trade in offer.

I'd be selling the whole car privately.
I've broken cars up to sell parts and it's just a ballache and consumes your time like you wouldnt believe.

If you can be bothered with the hassle then break it. Otherwise flog it to my nephew - he's been pining for one ever since he took mine for a razz. lol

Someone suggested £3,300. I think he would be getting a great car for that.

I have too but not z4s everything on them is desirable so they break bloody awesomely. There is a guy who used to break all bmws in blackburn near me but only breaks z4s now as there's so much money in it. Op has a garage to break it in now so it's a no brainer to me.

Get that socket set out!

I'd be aoffering around 2500-300 for a 2.0 litre car personally but it does have some tasty bits n pieces.
I'll punt it on to him, see what he says.
If you don't hear owt back from me then take it as he's not up for it...

Seems a shame to break a perfectly good car. Ask yourself, is a few more quid worth the end of a fine car and the hastle.

That’s why I’d be happy to raise £3,300 with the hardtop.

I think if I broke it with just the items listed above I’d be looking at about £3,000

Personally think you'd struggle a bit. There's been a handful of 2.5 with half the miles going for around. £3300-£3500 on here recently.

E.g.
https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=113875

f i wasn't breaking I'd sell the car for £2500 without the hardtop and get another £700+ back selling that
