For reference, the E46 was briefly available in the mainly E36 colour of Dakar Yellow. At the time it wasn't the adorable, kitsch paint job its perceived as today so only a few were made. Incidentally, on the subject of colours, there's a trend going on in the world of premium auction motoring for individual-type coloured cars. Buyers are looking for cars that stand out but remain original.
