Cool, so my existing 225/40 fronts and 255/35 rears will be fine...

Hmm, where's the credit card wifey!

Mike

Yes perfect

The fronts are both 8j

The rears are 9j compared to the 8.5j of the 108's

Neglijable difference

Will 4 of these fit a e85 z4?

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/311482730746

Or do they need to be different sizes front and back?

Those are 18x9 so won't fit the fronts.

Damn they accepted an offer of 460 euros for 4 of them :headbang:

Too big for the front I take it?

I'll need to contact them and see if they will swap the front 2 and possibly pay a bit extra.

They look great, do they feel smooth to the touch inside the wheel (thinking about dust in the lacquer and if it's noticeable)

As I said in an earlier post, the only dust I found was sitting on top of the wheels, and was cleared with a microfibre cloth.

The finish is perfect as far as I could see, so I'm guessing they're putting the 'B grade' description on them all even if only 10% are 'imperfect'.

I found it a bit strange that they are offering the rears for sale individually, but not the fronts.

I'm trying to see if they will now swap 2 rears for fronts and keep the price the same for the 4 i had my offer accepted on.

What happened for you to have the wrong wheels? Are the 4 in the set not 2 front and 2 rear? :?

I think he bought 4x the same single eBay listing, rather than the set of four, as it worked out cheaper, without realising it was 4x the same size alloy (so wrong for our front and rear setup).

What if you find someone that want a set , but they buy 4 fronts an then just split the 2 sets

How did you get on?

They wont talk through ebay only by outside email. They arent responding to the email address they sent me. It is the weekend though. Ill keep you posted with any updates in here but the longer this continues the more I think I should just keep my pristine 108's.

Where are they going to find 4 brand new fronts from?

If anyone has brand new fronts they want to swap for rears then pm me. I however feel nobody fits that criteria.

Given that mine really need a refurb I'm very tempted to go for a set of these. To those that have bought them, are they in the 'right' silver? The kind of lightly smoked, semi hyper silver/chrome effect of the originals or are they more of a standard silver?

I imagine they'll be the right shade seeing as they are 'factory seconds' but just thought I'd ask first.

How much do you guys reckon a pair of freshly refurbed 108's are worth? I can only see 1 line on them under very close inspection it's not a kerb mark it looks more like a spot that was missed when refurbing unnoticeable unless the wheels are given a through inspection with a very good set of eyes it's that small. Basically a 9.9/10 set, they look brand new no bubbling, etc just the 1 small line less than a mm wide and about a cm long. I got the wheels like this when I bought the car and I basically looked over them with a fine tooth comb yesterday to see if I could see anything imperfect with them.

Just wondering how much I'll get for them if I decide to go for these. The company has now dropped my quote to £570 delivered for a full set.

The £ seems to be weakening against the euro due to the elections. Give it a week and I reckon the £ will be back to normal and probably get a full set for £550 delivered.

If anyone is looking to buy hold off until the £ strengthens again would be my advice.

My set just arrived today and they are nearly perfect. There is the odd very minor defect around the lip but you've got to be within inches of them to see it and I very much doubt that they will be visible once the tyre is mounted.

As for the colour, I'd say these are more of a bright/hyper silver than the ever so slightly smoked finish you get on a new wheel-I guess bmw changed there colour palette at some point and that these wheels on offer are from the older one. Still a nice finish and all are exactly the same colour.

I just need to decide whether or not I keep my old wheels for spares/winter/track or if I sell them and buy some 19's-you can never have too many wheels after all!

Just to update on the current pricing: The set is now reduced 10 % from 799 to 719 euro plus shipping. I got it for 700 plus shipping, they would not budge on price but I still went ahead and hope to have them for the weekend.

It appears that I bought the very last set. Only individual wheels still available from Reifenpro. So that's the end of that run!

I could do with a new set of these, what could I sell my current set for?

They're in need of a refurb
