gives you 30% more power, same tax, same consumption...
I can see exactly what you're saying, but it's on a 'basic' car.

I must be getting old...for me for the same money I'd go 1 second slower to 62mph and then get more use out of the wind deflector, exterior folding/auto dimming mirrors, extra storage compartments, parking sensors front & rear, cruise control with brake function and extended lighting.

Hmmm just had a thought as I typed the above...as was pointed out that was with 10000 pa, wonder if you add the comfort pack and bring it down to 8000 pa what they'd charge...time for an email!

EDIT* I've asked them the question, I'll post the reply when I get it.
You're not old enough ;) - I'd go 35iS with comfort pack.

No point being the richest corpse in the graveyard ;) :D

lol a mate of mine got a quote on the new TT S-line, £3k down 8000 miles per year came in at £480! I found this for him: £264 more deposit and then £64 a month more he could go with the Boxster http://www.prestige-car-leasing.co.uk/car_leasing/porsche/boxster/2.7_2dr_pdk.aspx

The problem is where does it end????

Indeed - judging the fine line between not being the richest corpse and having enough money to get to the graveyard is one of life's great challenges :D.

Who wants a boxster anyway - too common ;) :D

Visit to the dealers today on a deal on a new 5 series - rang me this week and said they would p.ex my 325i and give me a new 5 series touring at cost! Will let you know how I get on - perhaps the pressure is on to sell!

I love the look of the 5 series, but as it's just the two of us didn't think it was for us...hence the Z4. To give you an idea before you go http://www.petervardybmw.co.uk/current-offers/new-bmw/5-series/touring-/

Please do, I am intrigued
If they really want your business.........

He called me and was very vague! Just rattled on about paying for the CP upfront to keep the price/deal the same, when asked about the miles he said come in and we can work it out. I then asked about ordering time as I want the car in March...he just said people order Z4's mainly for summer use, March deliver is the start of spring, so January-March deals take this into consideration...so was he telling me to order last quarter for a better deal???? :)

No he was being a typical Peter Vardy BMW Salesman. They don't know what the offers are going to be and sometimes you get a better deal at Eastern if you are still looking to purchase in Edinburgh but if you are happy to travel not too far then Douglas Park in Hamilton can be recommended for deals as well as Lloyd Newcastle where I bought my 35is from, they did a cracking deal and even gave me and the other half a free night in the Hilton and I hadn't even said I would buy the car at that point it was just so I could go do a test drive!

I think he was either trying to guess what BMW might do based on past offers or try and get you to commit to buying now incase the deal changes and its not as good.

However I will tell you now for free that they will hound you forever and a day from now on. They are truly the worst BMW dealership I have dealt with and when it was Dunedin it was a much nice place. They even tried to buy my last car back off me only a month after I got it because a customer had come in looking for the same car but didn't want to buy it new! This kept on for a while and I actually requested that they remove my details from their systems, when they failed to do so BMW UK got involved and that was the only way to stop it. They are a right pain in the @ss! Oh and not to mention that when I did get my last car from them, it was damaged when I went to pick it up and that took forever and a day to sort too!

Z4! The thing is, you get a car that's in the same class as a Boxster - may not be as sharp to drive but considering it's *significantly* cheaper...other thing to remember is that you should end up with a bit of equity at the end of a PCP so £544 a month on lease will cost you more over 3-4 years than the same on PCP

Thanks for the info on those two dealers, the one I spoke to today was from the link the OP posted. But I'll check out those two you mention ;)

Best guy to speak to at Leeds is Ranjit Hothi - we did the deal over the phone, paid the deposit, Nice Guy just tell him the deal you are looking for and he give it to us.

I suppose it depends on if xpar1 is willing to travel. I offered advice as I live in Edinburgh and had worked out from his postings that he lives within the East of Edinburgh, Midlothian or East Lothian area and was looking at a garage I've had lots of dealing with over the years.

But goes to show what a great bunch of people we are on here by helping others with recommendations

lol made me smile, travelled further than most will travel in two lifetimes! But I'm closer to Manchester :) But yes I'd travel for the right deal, in the military you reserve ammo and make every shot count, out of the military you reserve money and make every pound count

Update: So a deal on a 535D M Sport Touring - stunning car and quick with loads of goodies. Car in stock and list price £56k - quoted a price to purchase of £46k with £20k for my 325 in p.ex. Three years PCP at £270 a month. All sounded very tempting until I realised that at the end of 3 years I would need £26k to keep the car or just hand it back with notion to show. So to have the car for 3 years would have cost me £20k in p.ex for my 325 and a total of £9720 in monthly PCP payments. In effect this would cost me £825 per month to have on PCP and nothing to show after 3 years.....! Now if I were to use my 325 as the deposit this would leave a total balance of £26k to find. Cheapest loan for the £26k would be at 5.9% £780 per month and at the end of 3 years I would own the car. HOWEVER when I asked about HP I was told the deal only applied to a PCP agreement........
