Brakes - smokin' !

...Just as well the brakes had cooled a little and had some bite. I nearly shat myself. Idiot. It was all I could do to stop myself doing a u-turn and chasing after him to provide an education. Took a bit of the shine off my mini hoon :x :

Thank god for leather upholstry, would have been a bugger to get that out of a cloth interior

Seriously though, glad the brakes are working - numptys can drive any motor. What an idiot. I've seen someone try that on the A16, pulled to the left into a parking area then pulled straight across the carriageway to do a u-turn, ignoring the lorry that was just behind them and only just missed them. The look on their face was priceless as they saw a large lorry miss them by inches - think their seats needed a good valet afterwards ( I was behind the lorry, safe distance back) :o

How are the brakes now bing? Mine are still VERY smelly when I drive hard and noticed fade today. Done the 60-0 a couple of times and the fade was bad :(

Does it really take this long for the brakes and pads to settle? I've been to Wales and back (600miles round trip) 3 times!! Ok, not on the brakes much during the journey but still...

Should I be concerned?

Mine are ok now, bit of a smell of toastiness occassionally but no smoke like before that I have noticed. Got a squeak that has developed though - probably dirt as I can't use a jet wash on the car right now :(
