Try these i have fitted them to my last few cars & have been very impressed.Just fitted them to my coupe a few months ago & they are very good.went for driiled & grooved discs with mitex pads, £115 deliverd next day ! can`t beat that !

Calipers ordered with carriers ...

the couple of places i called did n't want to split them ... but I'm sure if you try harder than I'd did some carriers would come up.

If anyone's interested i came across two front carriers and 1 caliper in a job lot and they weren't too expensive ... PM and I ll send through the details.

Yep thanks for all the help CJ .... to answer my own question no increase on the insurance either... if or rather when i fit them..

I'm thinking halfords blue calipers with your idea of painting the backs of the red stuff...

Just got to get the EBC Stuff ordered up in the next couple wee while ... best price I've seen so far is 522 for the lot pads and discs (redstuff and ultimax)

Hi ZermattV - catching this thread a bit late I know but on a similar exercise myself - though just gone for some EBC turbo grooves discs & red stuff pads, which I have on my Audi and find good. I bought from some friends/ contacts of mine at www.motorsportworld.co.uk - might be worth giving them a try - not sure if mentioning Z4 forum or my (real) name will generate discount but do ask ask for Alexa. good luck.

Thanks JaxZ4 .. called them up and they beat best price I'd found on line parts tomorrow or friday.

decided to go for an all round EBC set redstuffs and ultramax.

Brakes arrived from EBC today via Motor Sport World and calipers and carriers from Quarry Motors ( pretty impressed with these guy's).. just phoned Joe at Sopers for repair kits and anti rattle springs... might as well due the job properly .

Just going to have to wait to late march to get them fitted .... :headbang:

anti rattle springs ? - do tell more ZermattV - what are they -should I get them for my EBCs too ?

You can see them on CJ's picture above- shiny silver spring on the caliper... you won't need to get new ones as you are not doing an upgrade so your old ones will fit straight on.

Ah, didn't realise they were friends/contacts of yours! I've used MSW for years and always refer folk to them - including from this forum. Cheapest for Eibachs for the Z4, also got my VW camper springs from them.

Just a shame I won't be doing an Si brake upgrade - limited by my 16" winter wheels...

Yeah the owners used to be immediate neighbours and now live just a couple of miles away - glad you've been using them - hadn't spotted any other comments re them but we do have zillions of posts to trawl through and search. I'm sure they will appreciate the business. I maybe should have mentioned earlier.

Ok so today was the day we got the front brakes changed out for EBCs and the 3.0Si brake calipers.

Future Father in Law has been hard at work reconditioning the front calipers with angle grinder and halfords caliper paint so that they looked like this ...

and installed with the new EBC red stuff pads and discs looked like this....

Tomorrows Job is the rear ones ...

Thanks to CJ10Jeeper, TomTVR and others for the advice and inspiration for this modification.... not driven it yet but will keep everyone posted on how they feel.

Special thanks to future father in law who is the mechanical genius .... i supply the bullets he fires them...

Well have now bedded them in and had chance to test them yesterday on a drive across aberdeenshire ... i think they have made a noticable difference they certainly feel meatier than the previous OEM brakes .

And a lot .... a lot .......... less brake dust .

I've also not noted the additional squeeks and squeels that others have reported all running very quietly ..... and now they are silver they look the part as well.

Advice given at the time to change to these -was great advice if you need to start changing discs out

( pads at the front had gone in my case and the front discs on inspection needed a change - backs were in good shape but wanted to run a matched set)

Nice work! A mod worth doing then if you have a 3.0?

I had an advisory on my front brake pads at my MOT on Tuesday. Still have another couple of months on them I think, but planning to change to EBC Greenstuff - I don't think I can justify redstuff on a 2.0! Also might change my discs at the time, but will see.

Glad it worked out for you. A perfect mod to do for such limited investment if done at a time of a requird pad and disc change.

Look good and as you note a noticable improvement in performance once bedded in. I used to find myself having to ease off at familiar junctions for the first few times as I was braking better than normal for a given pedal effort
