Brakes discs calliper

Hi Forum

Been a while since Ive posted but still a long time lurker. After over a year of hibernation the zed is coming back out but I’ve ran into a problem.

Front brake was stuck last time the wife drove car and she’s cooked it! So I need new Front Discs, pads and a Caliper. I’ve always taken to BMW in the past but now the car is of this age, and doesn’t seem to be going north price wise, I’m going to get a mechanic friend (who has an m3 csl!) to fit. Please can someone recommend

I’ve also had the dirty/degraded brake hose on the MOT before. Is it worth changing these at the same time? Is it worth changing both callipers or is that a waste of money?

You can get caliper rebuild kits, search for e46 M3 kits as the z4m uses same calipers as e46 m3 fortunately. I bought some from Bigg Red and they were perfect for a rebuild.

I'd advise changing discs/pads in pairs rather than just on one side.

Where are you located? I’ve a pair of front disks you can have cheap to tide you over if money is tight. There’s a few thousand miles left in them.

Thanks for replies. went for ATE discs and text at pads in the end. Plus a new ATE caliper.pretty sure the old one is toast. Looking forward to a few miles this year. Barely done any these past few!
