Brake upgrade options for e86

Hey all

I've e86 sport, and toying with the idea of upgrading my front brakes.

Does anyone recommend any options?

Want to avoid spending any more than 350 for discs, pads, and wear sensor in total - but depends on how bigger performance gain I'll get.
I can get OE front rotor brembo's for £90 - has anyone upgraded theirs from OE? - and would you say it was worth the extra cost in terms of performance?

I bought car with Pagids - and find them pretty lame. I won't be tracking the car at all - just every two weeks or so going for a blast down some country lanes.

I'm use to buying EBC brake rotors yellow stuff pads / or brembos all round and always found them great performance wise.

Suggestions appreciated!

is there a specific problem you're trying to address, or just want 'better brakes'?

id say the order of spend should go:
1) road biased better pads (EBC yellows, Ferodo etc) better bite, better coefficient of friction
2) fluid refresh with decent high temp fluid, remove fade from boiling fluid
3) slotted or grooved discs, to disperse heat and reduce fade from glazed pads

if you're still having problems, then you'd look at bigger rotors, better brake cooling etc.

I do trackdays in my E85, and found the major problem was a lack of cooling to the brakes and boiling fluid. so my current setup is performance friction pads, renewed high temp fluid, and removed front fogs for better cooling. I find standard oem discs are more than up to the job, money is better spent on decent pads in my opinion.

Well the ones I have currently have warped slightly which a bmw specialist has diagnosed. Basically u don’t feel the vibration on every day driving, it can only be felt when I’m specifically out for a blast.

The discs aren’t old either only 6 months, with not much mileage on them. So since I’m going to have to replace the rotors anyway, just wondering whether to upgrade to something better than OE.

I changed all mine "si" to

Brembo Discs pads front £105
Brembo Discs pads rear £80
Pagid Brake shoes £20

Ferodo ds2500 rear pads £130
Ferodo ds2500 front pads £120

ATE TYP200 Dot4 Brake Fluid - 1Ltr £15

It stops well, odd time in summer under low breaking/speed there squeaky. But rest of time there excellent
