Brake set up for fast road and a few trackdays a year

My zed is my daily driver but will also see a couple of trackdays and maybe some sprints throughout the year. I would like to upgrade the discs and pads, as I have done this on all my cars and appreciate the difference, plus I have read that the OEM pads and discs suffer fade on track. What discs and pads would be recommended to keep the balance between daily driver and track (if possible)? I don't want anything that is going to squeal day to day, but also want something that will perform on the track. Unfortunately a BBK is out of the question due to budget.

maybe an mtec kit with the mintex pads will be enough?

Pop on the 325mm rotor disc upgrade.

Mtech discs now with Mintex and DOT5.1 brake fluid.

Are those Mintex M1144? I have used MTEC discs in the past and been happy with them so thats a good shout, I assume yours were the ones coated in black and the pic is how look they have been used and friction removes the black?

Just checking out the options using the below link.

Just got the Mintex from MTech Cannot remember what pad 'id' they had.
Yes Black discs............ material disappears within a few drives. The picture was taken with older pads in.
Try the 5.1 fluid as well

Looking at M1144 pads price mine must be standard not race spec . They might be worth the extra punt.
Look out for counterfeit pads!

I did this last year to mine as, like you, do a few track days but it's also my daily ride.

I have a 3.0i so upgraded the 300mm discs to the 325mm setup, (bigger calipers and carriers required off a 330 e46 required for this) and after a lot of deliberation, I went for Black Diamond Combi discs and EBC Yellow Stuff pads all round. Added braided brake lines and 5.1dot fluid. Make sure you get 5.1 as dot 5 will eat your rubber hoses and screw your ABS. Stops on a sixpence now and no squeal at all when cold.

All of this survived a full day at Snetterton which, if anyone who's done this track knows, is very hard on brakes.

Sadly the car did come home to Sheffield on an AA truck as the throttle body broke in the final 15min of the day.

Off to Spa in September though! :driving:

Any more recommendations on suitable disc / pad combo for fast road / track? Should also add that I don't have huge budget for this at the moment. Considering either Black Diamond or MTECH discs with EBC Blue Stuff or Black Diamond Predator pads so far. I have used Blue stuff in the past and been impressed.
