Brake pipes

Has anyone changed there brake pipes? as my car has failed it's MOT today because of the rears been corroded! I think that it should be fairly easy to change to copper pipes but does anyone know otherwise?
 
I was chatting to a BMW indi today who said that a full line swap on a Z4 is a bigish job, rears requiring exhaust, prop etc to be dropped and lines to be made up before fitting, fluid re-fill and bleed = 4 hrs for the rear set, a lot less for the fronts which don't require the removal of big items. Interestingly he said most cases should not fail MOT as the corrosion is surface only and usually not affecting the integrity of the pipe, he recommend cleaning with wire wool and finish with a coat of grease.
 
Think i will get the trolley jack out tomorrow and see whats involved if it's diff out then out comes the wire brush!!
 
changed all 4 on mine in june. actually had them cut and new sections added as all the protected pipe looked like new. indi should be able to change all 4 pipes and hoses for 300ish

Just had car up and wheels off and it does not look a big job! but have done the wire wool and finish with a coat of grease trick and i'll be taking it to another MOT station. :thumbsup:
