Hi, I'd like to share this issue I had with my z4 2.5i 2003 M25B45, hope to also help someone else. I've searched a long time, but never found a solution.

Issue's:
- increased rpm when brake pedal is pressed while standing still or parking.
- when brake pedal is pressed, gas pedal does nothing
- cold start rpm not regular, but no problems.

This happened while standing still/moving slowly in situations like stop for a traffic light or parking. When I pressed the brake, the idle raised from 700 to 1100 rpm. At first I thought this had to be a leakage. to test this I removed the vacuum hose from the brake booster and sealed the vacuum hose. still the problem existed. I replaced the brake booster because that would have been the logical cause! Problem was still there. I then noticed it happened as soon as the brake lights went on. I then loosened the brake switch on the brake pedal, and rpm raised again without pressing the brake. I did have a warning in my ecu about the MAF meter, but didn't replace it because car runs good, and for something that seems to work fine it's an expensive replacement, I also couldn't imagine this would have been the problem.

this was reported in the error memory:

2783 heated film at air mass measuring sensor
Type of error : (2) signal or value below threshold
readiness flag : (16) Test conditions fulfilled
error-status : (35) current fault existing, OBD debounced
MIL-status : (48) fault caused no signal at warning lamp
P-Code : P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow'A' Circuit Low

partnr: 5WK96471 or 7513957

Yesterday I replaced my MAF meter, bought it for a better price at ERSATZTEILE-INFO, now al problems are gone.
